EMDR Therapy can feel incredibly surgical (because it kinda is) and intimidating. We really don’t want to mess it up because we know the stakes can be quite high - we don’t want to cause harm and we want to support our clients become their authentic selves. The pressure we put on ourselves to perform EMDR therapy perfectly is huge (although you really don’t need to do that but you know, that’s your own NCs talking).
The primary purpose of clinical consultation is to seek advice, guidance, or feedback on specific cases, clinical techniques, or other professional issues. To present a case and ask questions requires courage : you’re tapping into your own vulnerability in order to grow as a clinician and learn. And I respect that SO much. That’s why my approach is gentle : there are no stupid questions (truly) and I will not shut you down. I will kindly teach and warmly challenge so you push your critical thinking and creativity.

No. EMDR consultation is not supervision. The hours spent in clinical consultation with Danik Bernier, MSW, RSW cannot be used towards the CRPO or any other governing body. As an EMDR consultant-in-training, Danik Bernier, MSW, RSW is not liable for the way you practice psychotherapy and clinical decisions.

YES! I'm a consultant-in-training with EMDR International Association. I can provide up to 15 hours of individual consultation and 10 of those can go towards group consultation when working towards certification.

Yes, you will receive a contract by email to sign electronically after you have registered for a consultation session or for all consultation dates. You will also need to provide your EMDR basic training certificate.

You wil receive a Zoom link to connect to the consultation session after payment is received.
